A lovely octagonal Pernambuco bow with clear indications of adherence to the strong bow making tradition of 20^th century Markneukirchen.

Paulus studied with the master bowmaker, C.A.Schuster, and continued to work there, the war years excepted, until the workshop closed in 1955. On the closure of the Schuster workshop, Paulus and his father took over the premises and set up on their own whilst remaining true to the Schuster style which shows through in his work. He went on to a distinguished career including sitting on the adjudicating panel for the Master’s examination for bow makers in Markneukirchen.
